Did you talk to your parents about values? Any interesting thoughts/stories?
Let's talk theology behind the idea of healthy pride... (You should keep adding notes to that last journal.)
First, let's take a five minute search.... Make a T-chart to hold your findings:
Healthy Pride vs. Unhealthy Pride
ex/ giving our best demanding perfection from others or self
Read over this list or this one. What is a biblical definition of good and bad pride?
Theology Backing...
A big part of pride is measuring ourselves correctly...but we must beware of a performance mindset.
EQ: How does God want us to measure ourselves? A: Romans 8
EQ: What was the original temptation to Eve?
EQ: What does it mean to be made in the image of God?

Consider Genesis 2:7 and 1 Thessalonians 5:23:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Genesis 2:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1 Thessalonians 5:23 King James Version (KJV)
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So, then, what does it mean to be Sons and Daughters of Christ...of the King? How do we stand strong on a truth of who we are? A true pride is built on knowing what/who we are, not in trying to be something we are not. What are the implications of that truth? (Rom.8)
"We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to be proud of us, so that you may be able to answer those who pride themselves on a man's position and not on his heart." (2 Corinthians 5:12 RSV)
EQ: So then, what does God say we should ground our pride in? How do we practically measure our own confidence or identity on a daily life level?
