HW: Journal 3 (Be prepared to earn credit for this journal tomorrow.)
- We need to understand the background of David as he plays into the larger story. We also need to understand his foil character, Saul.
- Let's skim through 1 Samuel: 1-12 (chapters 1-12) and take notes on the questions below.
- Who is Samuel to the Jews? Why is he so significant? What is his gifting?
- Why does Samuel elect a king and how does he feel about it? Detail his warnings with a list of bullet points (Chs.8 & 12).
- What makes Samuel choose Saul?
- What description is given about Saul?
- What evidence of God's thoughts on the matter can you find?
