- We need to understand the background of David as he plays into the larger story. We also need to understand his foil character, Saul.
- Let's skim through 1 Samuel: 1-12 (chapters 1-12) and take notes on the questions below.
- Who is Samuel to the Jews? Why is he so significant? What is his gifting?
